Web-Est Posts Article Written by CEO Eric Seidel for Auto Body Business Owners

(PRWEB) February 20, 2012

Web-Est shared an article on their website, which was written by CEO Eric Seidel. When thinking about your growing and marketing a business, Mr. Seidel encouraged shops to think about what makes them different from their competition. “You don’t have to spend a lot of money, but you do have to keep looking for things on how to make your shop stand-out from the others and make sure that it is in a way the customer can understand,” says, Mr. Seidel. “Customers want it to be something different for them and are not always impressed with the shop’s years of service or the investment into their tools.” You can read the full article by visiting Web-Est’s Auto Repair Business blog at http://www.web-est.com.

Powersports Industry Expert Neil Pascale to Discuss New Trends in Online Marketing and Social Networking —

Powersports Industry Expert Neil Pascale to Discuss New Trends in Online Marketing and Social Networking

Norfolk, VA (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

Dominion Powersports Solutions, a division of Dominion Enterprises, has announced their business development manager and industry expert Neil Pascale will be the featured speaker at the Texas Motorcycle Dealers Association Annual Conference to be held February 25-26 in Austin, TX. Pascale will lead discussions on the evolution of online marketing and how dealers can successfully use social networking sites to grow their audience. Dominion Powersports Solutions is one of two sponsors for this conference.

More than ever, consumers are going online to post reviews of their experiences with dealerships. These online reviews will ultimately influence the purchasing decisions of other potential dealership customers. There has been a major shift in that buying and research are being done primarily online, so dealers should now focus more attention on online marketing. This new trend has evolved because of major strides by key online players such as Google, Yelp, and Facebook. Pascale said, “Dealers will benefit from gaining more knowledge about these new advances which will potentially bring in more consumers.”

Social networking sites such as Facebook provide dealers with an opportunity for ongoing interaction and relationship building with their customers. During this conference, dealers will also learn how to successfully engage with a growing Facebook audience with just a few simple steps. “In the past couple of years, Facebook has played a huge role in online marketing,” said Pascale. “I’m excited to share some tips on how dealers can benefit from using social networking in a variety of ways.”

Members and nonmembers interested in attending the conference may register on site at the conference or go online and download the registration form.

Two Angelenos are Out to Change the Way the World Experiences Los Angeles —

Two Angelenos are Out to Change the Way the World Experiences Los Angeles

Southbound Gold Line at night

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

They were fed up with the clichés about Los Angeles: “it’s an unmanageable suburban sprawl”, “it’s a cultural vacuum”, “it’s crime-ridden” and “you need a car to get anywhere.” The L.A. they knew was exactly the opposite: a city of diverse and distinctive neighborhoods; hundreds of cultural attractions, restaurants, music venues, hotels, spas and spiritual retreats, all accessible by a clean, efficient, safe and growing Metro Rail system. So Elisa Makunga and David Madsen decided to show the world the L.A. they love and to debunk the myths that tourists and locals alike believe about Los Angeles.

True citizens of the city of perpetual re-invention, Makunga and Madsen combined the experiences and frustrations of earlier careers to create LA Electric Travel, a new on-line guide to seeing Los Angeles by Metro Rail. They’ve also just released a guide book companion to the site, “L.A. Adventures: Eclectic Day trips by Metro Rail Through Los Angeles and Beyond”. The travel guide features 14 day trips and 100 things to do in L.A. The website takes visitors to over 330 attractions in Los Angeles by Metro Rail. “All of L.A. intersects here,” says Makunga. “Art, culture, food, music, sports, famous landmarks and off-the-wall destinations such as the Bunny Museum or Chicken Boy. We like to highlight local businesses: mom and pop cigar stores, artisans who make handmade flamenco guitars, Korean immigrant-run foot massage shops, neighborhood yoga studios, pagan apothecaries who will prepare a custom-made love potion for you.”

Madsen is a produced screenwriter, used to battling Hollywood’s gatekeepers and their fear-based decision-making. “I needed to produce something that was creative and personal, where “no” wasn’t the default response,” Madsen says. Makunga was a mediator, whose work as a human relations specialist had taken her to every neighborhood in Los Angeles County. They both love exploring the city, and despite occasional threats to defect to a hammock on a Zanzibar beach or a goat farm in Northern California, they knew they would always be Angelenos. “We built this business to prove to the world that there’s a vast, unvisited canvas out there that people miss if they stay in their cars,” says Makunga. “We don’t have corporate or civic sponsors, so all the attractions listed on L.A. Electric Travel reflect our personal tastes and opinions.”

Madsen and Makunga believe Los Angeles is in the middle of a renaissance “Changes are happening every day in L.A. at the sidewalk level,” says Makunga. “Every neighborhood has its Art Walk; companies like Melting Pot and Urban Food Crawl offer walking food tours. There are meetups that sponsor Metro riding trips. Downtown has revitalized, with attractions such as The Grammy Museum and L.A. Live easily reachable by Metro Rail. The mayor of this freeway entangled city is an energetic evangelizer for mass transit. The city’s new Bike Share Program hopes to put 4,000 GPS-linked rental bikes on the streets of L.A. within two years. Crime has dropped for nine straight years. The streets are safer than they’ve been in decades, which encourages people to get out of their cars to ride, walk and patronize local, non-chain businesses. Metro Rail has just opened the Expo Line, which will connect Downtown with L.A.’s West Side. Here’s another bit of myth busting news: US News recently ranked the public transportation systems of ten American cities, rating factors such as spending on mass transit, safety incidents per million trips, and the number of trips taken per capita — L.A. came in third, behind New York and Denver. This is all happening as Los Angeles welcomed a record 26.9 million visitors in 2011 (who spent a record $ 15.2 billion). We want a significant percentage of those visitors to consider viable, alternative means of seeing LA.” says Makunga. “But touring the city by Metro Rail is not about doing penance or roughing it by going green,” she adds. “Many of the day trips in our guide feature the best restaurants in town, or a pampering afternoon at the spa. You can treat yourself and the Earth well at the same time.”

This “L.A. renaissance” is underway as the national zeitgeist is shifting to greener, less fossil fuel-dependant modes of transportation. In the last twenty years, public transportation use has increased at a faster rate than highway use. A new study by US Public Interest Research reveals that young people are using mass transit more and are driving less. Madsen and Makunga believe L.A. Electric Travel is a perfect resource for this new breed of urban adventurer. “Travelers are sending real-time post cards via Instagram, uploading their vacation albums seconds after they’re snapped; they’re riding the rails with their tablets and smart phones”. When a local restaurant changes its hours, or a museum adds a new attraction, L.A. Electric Travel can respond quickly by spreading the word on Twitter or Facebook.

“Whether it’s the high cost of gas or changing values, we think time and demographics are on our side,” says Madsen. “People who use and appreciate L.A. Electric travel will make traveling by Los Angeles Metro Rail a regular part of their lives.”

Xagave?s Agave Nectar Now Available in Single Serving —

Xagave’s Agave Nectar Now Available in Single Serving

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) December 15, 2011

It’s no longer necessary to leave Xagave at home. Take Xagave with you wherever you go, on the road, to work, the airport, wherever you desire the great taste of Xagave. Each single serving packet provides the sweetness equivalent equal to 2 tsp of sugar. The new single serving packets are available and can be purchased in quantities of 50 and 500.

Preferred by chefs and recommended by doctors, Xagave’s agave nectar sweetener provides a healthy alternative to sugar. The organic and all natural sweetener is well known for great taste and a favorite among professional chefs. Stephen Richards, President and CEO comments “Xagave is the only agave sweetener that has been able to extract the amazingly healthful inulin from the blue agave plant and infuse it with the calcium-rich white agave.” Steven goes on to say “Inulin is a water-soluble dietary fiber that is capable of moderating blood sugar levels, boosting the immune system, increasing calcium absorption, increasing bone density, reducing risk of colon cancer, and improving digestive health, among other things.” Mr. Richards adds “The agave nectar sweetener provides a filling effect which will satisfy your appetite making it a useful tool for weight loss and weight management.”

A recent study from the American Heart Association recommends limiting the consumption of added sugars. The AHA study recommends most women should consume no more than 100 calories of added sugars per day and most men, no more than 150 calories per day. The average American consumes 22.5 teaspoons or 355 calories of added sugar per day.

For those looking to cut back on sugar, agave nectar is the perfect all natural sugar replacement. Artificial sweeteners such as saccharin, sucralose, and aspartame have a low calorie count however the chemicals in these engineered products are questionable at best and not recommended for cooking. Natural sweeteners like honey and molasses are chemical-free, but their glycemic index, calorie count, and specific taste make them a poor replacement for sugar. Alternative natural sweeteners such as Stevia and Lo Han are limited in their application and are often difficult to use. The all natural agave nectar provides the best of all worlds. In addition to a low glycemic index (30 to 35) and significant calorie savings, the health advantages from the inulin-infused agave nectar are unmatched by any sugar or sugar replacement.

Xagave is truly where delicious meets nutritious, the natural sweetener is sweeter than sugar, very versatile and can easily be used as a complete sugar replacement. The pure agave nectar provides excellent cooking qualities. Unlike other sweeteners, Xagave actually enhances the flavor of foods. Xagave can be used for cooking, canning and baking or as a table top sweetener for cereal, coffee or tea. To help others take advantage of the nutritious health benefits of agave nectar Mr. Richards published “Delicious Meets Nutritious” a compilation of recipes; how to cook, can and bake with agave nectar and whole grains. The Delicious Meets Nutritious cookbook has been well received with over 5,000 copies sold this year, one of the signature recipes in the agave nectar cookbook features a delicious whole grain carrot cake that is over 3,000 calories less that its sugar and white flour counterpart.

Xagave is truly in a class of its own and the only agave nectar sweetener to combine all the health benefits of both white and blue agave nectar with an amazingly great taste.

Flooding Won’t Halt Plumbworld! —

Flooding Won’t Halt Plumbworld!

Plumbworld display dedication to work despite the floods!

Evesham, Worcestershire, UK (PRWEB UK) 4 May 2012

Over the last 7-10 days, the rain has been unrelenting throughout most of the UK and with flood warnings spread over various parts of the country; it doesn’t look too promising with more rainfall predicted this weekend.

Plumbworld, one of the UK’s largest online bathroom retailers has been faced with some serious water-related problems over the last few days. What can only be described as a monsoon on Sunday caused some areas of the car-park to be submerged in almost 6 inches of water. Whoever designed a downwards sloping parking area definitely didn’t consider the possibilities of flooding, that’s for sure.

Although this didn’t put a halt to proceedings, it certainly made truck drivers a bit wary about picking up and dropping off goods. A couple of 4×4 owners even parked where they usually do, 6 inches of water? Not a problem when the ground clearance is over a foot. But the people with lower-slung cars did have to seek out alternative parking for the day; the owners of an Audi R8 & a Vauxhall Monaro in particular.

As more rain fell in the week, this became a secondary problem as some staff were struggling to even make it in to work as their commuting routes had been blocked by torrents of flood-water. There’s something a little ironic about water stopping people getting to work at a plumbing goods business…

Luckily the West Midlands weren’t hugely affected by floods and only a few specific areas were hit. But this doesn’t detract from the effort put in by the staff at Plumbworld to get into work and not let their high levels of service fall due to unforeseen circumstances. There’s a lot of people who would just sit at home when any flood warnings are raised and claim it’s too dangerous; but these guys put the job and customer satisfaction first – something that is becoming hard to come by in this modern day world.

Plumbworld.co.uk operates on the ever-expanding Plumbworld Network which currently boasts an astounding 50+ websites which sell everything from designer bathroom suites and sink wastes to Stuart Turner shower pumps and kitchen sinks. Plumbworld was an early pioneer of online trading, started by James and Anita Hickman in 1999 and sold to the Grafton Group PLC in December 2006. The business now employs more than 50 people in its purpose built warehouse and offices and has a total turnover in excess of £18 million and is growing at more than 20% year on year.
